Eligibility

The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) will conduct a three-stage recruitment process for Upper Division Clerk (UDC) posts: Prelims, Mains, and Skill Test. The prelims exam and skill test will be qualifying in nature, and the final selection will be based on the marks scored by candidates in ESIC UDC Phase-II (Mains) Exam.

ESIC UDC Exam Pattern 2025

Phase-1 Prelims Exam

This stage is qualifying, and marks will not be included in the final selection. The exam will consist of 4 sections with 100 Objective Type Questions. Each correct answer carries 2 marks, and there will be a negative marking of one-fourth mark (0.25) for each incorrect answer. The total duration of the test will be 60 minutes (1 hour).

Phase-2 Mains Exam

This stage is scoring, and marks will be considered in the final selection. The exam will consist of 4 sections with 200 Objective Type Questions. Each correct answer carries 1 mark, and there will be a negative marking of one-fourth mark (0.25) for each incorrect answer. The total duration of the test will be 120 minutes (2 hours).

Phase-3 Computer Skill Test

There will be no negative marking for this phase, and the marks scored by the candidates will not be considered for the final merit list.

ESIC UDC Syllabus

Though the subjects are common in Phase-I & Phase-II, the difference lies in their difficulty level & the number of questions. Candidates must clear their basics for each subject to score good marks in both stages.

ESIC UDC Syllabus 2025 For Quantitative Aptitude

ESIC UDC Syllabus 2025 For English Language

  • Spellings/Detecting Mis-spelt words, Common Error, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Comprehension Passage, Cloze Passage, Fill in the Blanks, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Conversions, Sentence Rearrangement, Grammar, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Improvement of Sentences, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Vocabulary, Idioms & Phrases.

ESIC UDC Qualifying Marks

Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks as decided by ESIC for both Prelims & Mains Exam. Those scoring less than these minimum qualifying marks will not be considered for the next stage of the selection process.
