U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), a leading centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) located in Bengaluru, invites online applications from eligible Indian Nationals for one-year apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended) for the year 2026-27.

Vacancy Details

URSC aims to engage a total of 410 Apprentices across various disciplines. The vacancies are distributed as follows:

• Graduate Apprenticeship (B.E./B.Tech.): 220 posts
  • Disciplines include Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering & Management, Automobile, Aeronautical, and Aerospace Engineering.
  • Monthly Stipend: Rs. 12,300/-
• Technician Apprenticeship (Diploma): 120 posts
  • Disciplines include Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation Technology, and Automobile Engineering.
  • Monthly Stipend: Rs. 10,900/-
• Commercial Practice Apprenticeship (Diploma): 70 posts
  • Discipline: Commercial Practice.
  • Monthly Stipend: Rs. 10,900/-

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) or Diploma in the relevant engineering or commercial practice discipline from a recognized University/Technical Board/Institution.
• Year of Passing: Only candidates who have passed their qualifying examination during the years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 are eligible. Candidates who passed earlier than 2021 are not eligible.
• Nationality: Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
• Previous Apprenticeship/Experience: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, or have one year or more of experience, are not eligible.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted online in two stages:

1. NATS Portal Registration: Candidates fulfilling the essential qualifications must first enroll themselves on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal at https://nats.education.gov.in.
2. UMANG Portal Application: After successful registration on NATS, candidates must then apply for the URSC Apprenticeship through the UMANG portal. The link for applying is https://web.umang.gov.in/landing/.

Important Dates:

• Online Registration Start Date: July 29, 2026 (1200 Hrs)
• Online Registration Last Date: August 28, 2026 (1159 Hrs)

Documents to Upload:

Candidates are required to upload scanned copies of the following documents in JPG/JPEG/PNG format (max 1MB per document file; Photograph/Signature max 50KB):

• Degree/Diploma Marks Certificates (all semesters/years).
• Degree/Diploma Certificate / Provisional Certificate / Passing Certificate.
• Valid Government-issued ID.
• Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC), Income & Assets Certificate (for EWS), or Disability Certificate (for PwBD), if applicable.

Selection Procedure

• Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the percentage of marks obtained in their respective qualifying examination (Degree/Diploma).
• Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification at URSC, Bengaluru. No Traveling Allowance (TA) will be provided for this.
• Final Panel: A final panel will be drawn based on the academic scores verified during the document verification. Selected candidates will be informed via email.

General Instructions

• Candidates must ensure their Aadhar number is linked to their bank account for DBT payments.
• A valid and active email ID is mandatory for registration and future communication. Avoid duplicate applications.
• The period of training will be 12 months.
• Selected candidates must submit a Medical Certificate at the time of joining.
• Apprentices will have no claim for employment at URSC or any other ISRO Centre/Unit after completing the training period.
• Any discrepancy in application data versus original documents will lead to disqualification.
