About the Examination

CTET is conducted twice a year by CBSE to certify teacher eligibility for classes 1 to 8 in schools under the central government and several state boards.

Eligibility Criteria

Paper I requires a Senior Secondary certificate with at least 50% marks plus a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (or equivalent); Paper II requires a graduate degree with a B.Ed or equivalent teacher training qualification.

Selection Process

Candidates appear for Paper I, Paper II, or both, depending on the teaching level they wish to qualify for. There is no interview — a CTET certificate is valid for life.
