Vacancies

A total of 545 vacancies are available for the Local Bank Officer (LBO) post. These vacancies are distributed across different states. Candidates are required to apply for a vacancy in only one state and must possess proficiency in the specified local language for that state.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Graduate degree in any discipline from a University/Institution recognized by the Government of India. A valid Mark-sheet/Degree Certificate confirming graduation on or before 2026-08-09 is mandatory.
• Experience: A minimum of one-year post-qualification work experience in a Clerical/Officer Cadre within any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank is required.
• Age Limit: Candidates must be between 20 and 30 years of age as on 2026-07-01.
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-creamy layer): 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
  • Persons affected by 1984 riots: 5 years
• Local Language Proficiency: Proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) in the specified local language of the chosen state is essential. Candidates who have not studied the local language in 10th or 12th standard will be required to appear for a Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT).

Application Fee (Non-Refundable)

• SC/ST/PwBD candidates: Rs. 59/- (Rs. 50/- + 18% GST)
• All others: Rs. 1180/- (Rs. 1000/- + 18% GST) Application fees must be paid online only.

Selection Process

The selection process involves four stages:

1. Online Written Test: This test will cover Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General/Economy/Banking Awareness. There will be a negative marking of one-fourth of the marks assigned to each incorrect answer. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for General/EWS and 35% for Reserved categories.
2. Screening: Documents and online applications of written test qualified candidates will be scrutinized.
3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): This test is qualifying in nature and assesses reading, writing, and speaking proficiency in the local language.
4. Personal Interview: This stage carries 50 marks, with minimum qualifying marks of 45% (22.50) for SC/ST and 50% (25) for other categories.

Final Selection

Final selection will be based on the combined performance in the Online Written Test and Personal Interview, contingent upon qualifying the LLPT (where applicable) and fulfilling all eligibility and document verification requirements. A state-wise and category-wise merit list will be prepared.

Pay Scale

The pay scale for the Local Bank Officer (LBO) is 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920. In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), House Rent Allowance (HRA)/Leased Accommodation, Leave Fare Concession, Medical Insurance, Retirement Benefits, and other perquisites as per Bank rules.

Important Notes

• Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of 2 years and will be designated as “Local Bank Officer”.
• They will be deployed in any of the Circles within the State for which they have been selected and will generally remain posted in the same state for 9 years or until promotion to SMG Scale IV.
• Candidates must ensure they maintain a healthy Credit history with a minimum CIBIL score of 680 or above at the time of joining the Bank.
• Selected candidates will be required to execute an Indemnity Bond undertaking to serve the Bank for a period of at least 3 years or pay a sum of Rs. 2,00,000.00 if they leave before completing the bond period.
• The Bank reserves the right to cancel, add, or modify any examination centre depending on administrative feasibility or candidate response.
