About the Recruitment

The High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru has issued a revised notification for direct recruitment to various Group-D posts on its establishment. Two notifications have been released together: HCRB 8/2025 for 98 posts (including 1 backlog post) under the Residual Parent Cadre, and HCRB 9/2025 for 8 posts under the Kalyana Karnataka Region (Article 371-J) quota, taking the combined vacancy count to 106. The posts on offer are Peon, Watchman, Sweeper, Peon (House Keeping), Lift Attender, Assistant Binder, Tailor, and Dhobi, to be posted at the Principal Bench in Bengaluru or the Benches at Dharwad and Kalaburagi. Candidates who had already applied against the earlier notifications dated 22 April 2026 need not apply afresh or pay the fee again, but must still comply with the additional instructions carried in this revised notification.

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum educational qualification for all posts is a pass in SSLC/10th standard or an equivalent examination. In addition, Lift Attender applicants must have experience in lift mechanism, Assistant Binder applicants need at least two years of experience in binding work, Tailor applicants need at least three years of tailoring experience, and Dhobi applicants must have worked as a dhobi. Candidates must be at least 18 years old as on the last date for submission of application (31 July 2026). The maximum age limit is 40 years for General Merit candidates, 43 years for OBC Category-II(A)/II(B)/III(A)/III(B), and 45 years for SC/ST/Category-I OBC/PwBD candidates — these limits already factor in a one-time 5-year age relaxation notified by the Government of Karnataka.

Under the Kalyana Karnataka Region quota (HCRB 9/2025), 8 posts are notified across Peon, Sweeper and Peon (House Keeping) combined. Selection Process

There is no written examination. For each post, a merit list of eligible candidates is prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying SSLC/10th standard examination, applying applicable reservation norms for SC/ST/OBC as well as horizontal reservation for women, rural candidates, ex-servicemen, and persons with benchmark disability. Candidates are shortlisted for interview at 10 times the notified vacancies (5 times for Assistant Binder), in order of merit within each category. Original documents are verified at the time of interview, and a two-year probation period follows appointment.

Applications must be submitted online only, through the High Court of Karnataka's official website. Candidates should fill in all required details, upload a recent passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed size and format, pay the applicable fee through the SBI online payment gateway, and preview the application carefully before final submission — applications, once submitted, cannot be withdrawn or modified. The application fee is Rs. 200 for General Merit and OBC candidates, and Rs. 100 for SC/ST/Category-I OBC/PwBD candidates; the fee is non-refundable.
